Connecting To Salesforce

Now that you’ve established a way for Attend to talk to your Salesforce account, it's time to get connected!

This final step will require you to enter your Salesforce API Credentials from the Connected App you set up, as well as your user login credentials in order to complete the integration setup.

We use OAuth, an industry standard for establishing securely authenticated connection between applications, so we never store your Salesforce credentials. We simply direct you to a Salesforce page to enter your information, which then allows us to establish a connection.

It just takes a few quick steps and you won’t need to worry about it again unless you change your Salesforce password.

  1. In Attend, navigate to your account settings and select the “Salesforce Settings” option.
  2. This screen will allow you to enter the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret you generated in Salesforce. You will also need to select the Salesforce Environment you would like to connect to:
    • Production: Connects to https://login.salesforce.com
    • Test: Connect to https://test.salesforce.com
  3. Once you've entered in your Salesforce API Credential information, click "Save & Connect". This will save credentials for all users in your Attend account, and prompt you to connect to Salesforce. Here, you'll need to enter your Salesforce username and password to connect to your Salesforce account.
If you have a pop-up blocker configured, please make sure https://account.attend.com is configured to allow popups.
  4. Click “Allow” to allow Attend to fetch the necessary information from your Salesforce account.
  5. After you accept, you will see a brief pop-up message that indicates you’ve successfully connected.
  6. That window will automatically close, at which point you should see your connected user information, as well as a button to disconnect should you decide to connect to Salesforce as a different user.

If you change your Salesforce password, you’ll have to re-enter it the next time you try to use the Attend integration. But don't worry, we’ll prompt you from anywhere you attempt to import, export or sync to Salesforce. Just figured you’d want to know :)
